The environment
Yes, it's the new buzz but we have always felt strongly about minimising the impact of our work on the environment. We recycle; we keep packaging to an absolute minimum and we try to limit the use of hardwood in our furniture. Where it is absolutely required for strength, we aim to ensure that it only comes from effectively managed sources

Our ethics
In the end, it's about people. We work directly with our suppliers all over the world, and we like to develop long-term relationships with them. All our suppliers adopt The Pier Merchandise Buying Policy which ensures that no child or prison labour is used in the manufacture of our products and requires our suppliers to pay a fair wage in the local context. And because we visit our suppliers so often, it's easy for our Buying Team to ensure it's happening the way we'd like.
