Delivery charges

We do have standard delivery charges that are reflected by the size and weight of the products you order. The highest delivery charge for the items in your basket is then applied to your whole order. You will only pay one delivery charge for your order.

Orders over £800 (after discount) - FREE
Any order that comes to the value of over £800 is entitled to a free delivery.

Large furniture - £40
This includes any large items of furniture including wardrobes, beds, dressers, dining furniture and large armchairs and sofas.

Small furniture - £25
Smaller chairs and storage items that can generally be carried by one person.

Large non-furniture items - £15
Mirrors, rugs, panels and wall hangings.

Small non-furniture - £5
Textiles, cushions, crockery, glassware and similar size items.

Gift Vouchers - £2.95

Delivery service

We are pleased to say that when you shop with The Pier, most products are available in the warehouse and delivered within 14 days (but please allow up to 28 days).

Very occasionally, a popular item shown as in stock may be unavailable when we process your order. If this happens we will let you know as soon as we do.

If you order a product with an availability date shown, we will aim to dispatch it to you as soon as possible after it arrives with us. We usually wait for ALL items in your order to be available before delivering to you, but very occasionally we may choose to deliver as items become available. In this instance, you will only be charged for one delivery.

Please read 'Product availability' for more information on products that are not available in the warehouse when you place your order.

We deliver to all UK and Eire addresses. However, deliveries to the following areas will incur a higher charge from our couriers, starting from £20:

  • Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands, Eire and all other offshore locations.

  • At present we are unable to accept orders on our website for delivery to addresses in these areas. However, we are happy to take an order over the phone and give you a delivery quote for any of the areas above - just phone Pier Direct on 0845 609 1234.

    Sorry, but we are unable to deliver to B.F.P.O addresses.

    If you are unable to accept delivery at your billing address, you can have your parcel sent to another address. Let us know when placing your order online at the 'Delivery Information' page or, if you've already confirmed your order, just email our dedicated Customer Service team or call them on 0845 609 1234. They will be happy to make any changes for you.

    Delivery arrangements

    Delivery can sometimes seem frustratingly complicated but we've tried to keep it as simple and transparent as possible. It's worth bearing in mind that by their very nature, furniture and accessories need to be treated differently.

    For large furniture deliveries, you will be contacted within 7 days, once stock is available to offer you a delivery date. Your items will be prepared for dispatch the day before your agreed delivery date and you will receive a call to confirm your delivery time slot. Our Pier Direct delivery team is happy to deliver each piece straight to its intended spot - even if it is up three flights of stairs! However, we are not able to offer an assembling service for those few items we sell that require self-assembly.

    For all other items, deliveries are made by Business Post, weekdays only between 9am-5pm. A signature is required. For these deliveries it is not possible to guarantee a date or time, but please let us know when you place your order if you have any special preferences, for instance, if you need items by a specific date, you're going to be away, you want to specify an alternative delivery address such as a work address or you'd like your parcel to be left with a neighbour. We will try our best to make these arrangements for you and if there is a problem with the date specified we will let you know. Saturday deliveries can be arranged through our Customer Service team at premium rates starting at £25. Please note, we cannot be held responsible if goods go missing when we have been instructed to leave them outside in your absence.

    You will receive an email from us the day before your order is due to be delivered.

    Mixed orders of furniture and accessories are delivered as two separate orders. Occasionally we send accessories in more than one delivery, but you will only ever be charged ONCE.

    Delivery problems

    We make every effort to deliver your goods on the scheduled date. However, very occasionally circumstances beyond our control force us to cancel your delivery. Should this happen, you will be contacted as soon as possible and our Delivery Team will reschedule at the earliest available time. We do not offer compensation where a delivery is not made for reasons beyond our control.

    If your delivery fails twice because you are not at home, the couriers will return the item to The Pier and you may be liable to pay for the delivery again.

    Important - Are you sure you have measured correctly?

    This is stating the obvious, we know, but particularly when ordering larger items (wardrobes etc) it is important that you carefully measure both the ultimate location of the item and ALSO whether it can be manoeuvred through doors and hallways to get to its destination. If you have narrow doorways or a staircase with tight corners, please be sure to check again and get in touch with us if there's a problem.

    If we are unable to deliver your goods due to poor access, we will give you a full refund but will deduct a £50 collection charge to return your order. Your statutory rights are unaffected.
